The way Riley responded with 'who can't' made Briarstar doubt that she really understood what her question had been. But they would see about that. Briarstar added climbing to the list. "Alright, so then..." The leader trailed off upon seeing Tinypaw approach, feeling a flicker of annoyance as the apprentice went ahead to barge in with a question. She couldn't blame the apprentice really, not for being enthusiastic, and because most of the other apprentices were out of camp (should they have returned already?). But Briarstar had so much to do. Her answer was about to be 'no', because Tinypaw was too young and well, too tiny to be allowed outside of camp alone.
But then Draftfeather left camp, and Briarstar made note of that and the tom's demeanor before turning back to Tinypaw. Except Tinypaw wasn't there anymore, and instead was headed towards the entrance. What? Apprentices didn't, in general, go out of camp alone. Exceptions were made for the older, more experienced ones, but they still needed to let someone know. Tinypaw--
Sycamorethroat's touch made her tense. Too much. She had tensed too much. Wasn't collected enough anymore. But there was so much to do. And she was tired. It was chilly. If the warrior would have stayed a moment longer, perhaps Briarstar would have shot him a grateful look for going ahead to deal with that. Instead, she forced herself to relax, getting to her paws and motioning for Riley to follow. "Let's move somewhere quieter." Her gaze rested on Fallowface for a moment, considering once again before she motioned for him to stay behind. Alone was best.
Assuming that Riley would be following, she led the way till they were near the Highbranch and partially shielded by the medicine cat den. "Pretending that that pebble is a mouse, show me what you would do exactly as if you were hunting out in the territory."
