Name Meaning:
Prefix- Dawntail's coloration reminded his mother of the sky's color at dawn.
Suffix- Dawntail's tail is awkwardly long, and it was part of the reason why he got his name. He is actually good at balancing however, a fact that did contribute to his suffix.

Tall, stocky seal lynx mink and white tom with a long tail and icy blue eyes.
Detailed Appearance:
Dawntail’s a muscular tom, who’s stocky compared to most of his clanmates though he still maintains their usual tall figure. His legs are long and powerful, and when he walks he takes long strides and holds his head tall. While not his namesake, Dawntail has a noticeably long tail that he doesn’t always seem to know what to do with, and it usually sways loosely behind him.
Dawntail’s coat is far from plain. He’s a seal lynx mink bicolor, and his fur has a rather grizzled appearance. Dawntail’s spots are rather faint on his body, though the stripes on his face are bold and stand out against his light-colored fur. He has a brighter, more vibrant patch of furover his nose, which is bright pink. Like his face markings, the stripes on his tail are dark and bold, and they almost completely cover his tail, save for a small while patch on its tip,
Dawntal’s eyes are almond-shaped and are a clear, icy blue colour which he claims resemble a cloudless sky.

Tall and big boned; stocky. He's a brawny cat, who moves with a swagger instead of the elegance that many felines have.

Personality:
Dawntail is an all around sweetheart who tends to be a little socially awkward, though he has mostly grown out of this. Despite his awkwardness, he's a socialiable cat, and enjoys a fast paced lifestyle where he can meet all kinds different characters. In light of his new rank, however, he's settled down a little and is trying to become more mature. Still, old habits die hard, and Dawntail still tries to "flaunt his stuff" in a playful and casual way.
Dawntail enjoys spending time around younger cats, liking how they are not so serious compared to their older counterparts and enjoying their carefreeness. He really enjoys it when kits look up to him like he’s some sort of hero simply because he’s deputy. One thing he enjoys is telling kits stories. He was told plenty as a kit, and he wants to share his love of fantastical heroes with the younger generation.
Dawntail tends to be a little brash and stubborn, and he becomes easily emotional in situations, not always being able to look back on things with a clear head. Once this tom makes a choice, it’s almost impossible to change it, and he would really need to like and trust someone enough to let them change his mind.

His father dies in a hunting accident and his mother dies due to green cough. Dawntail remains upset for a while, though some of the kits in the clan help him recover until he's back to his old self.

Dawntail's kithood was a happy and normal one. He was born to Sparrowflower and Stormnose, their only kit after difficulty conceiving. He was spoiled as a kit, his parents would dote on him and treat him like a little prince, and his father would constantly bring him back little surprises from patrols, like pebbles or feathers that he could use to line his nest with. But, despite spoiling him, his parents made sure that Dawntail grew up with good manners, and they weren't afraid to scold or punish him if he went to far out of line. Despite being an active kit and often playing among his peers, he tended to be shy and awkward due to others teasing his tail length.
When he turned 6 moons, Dawntail became an apprentice. His mentor was Rainear, a young warrior who had joined the clan as a loner a few moons before. Despite Rainear's young age, she had lots of experience from living alone, and she instilled many life lessons into Dawntail as a kit, and helped him become more confident and to not feel embarrassed about his tail.
At 12 moons, Dawntail became a warrior, earning his suffix -tail as a reference to his long tail and balancing skills. Dawntail had to deal with his first real tragedy at 13 moons when his father died in a hunting accident. His death hit him and his mother hard and his mother died not long after when she caught greencough. Dawntail reverted back to original shyness for a time, refusing to talk unless communicating with other warriors on a patrol. He began to heal when a kit accidentally tossed a moss ball at him and he subsequently joined their game at their request. Dawntail begun to play with them daily, and he soon perked up.
Now, Dawntail's turned into a fine adult cat who just accepted the role of deputy. While nervous about his new rank, he's also excited and eager to become a strong, powerful force in his clan.
